RULES OF THE CONTEST 1. All photos must be related to Longines watches. Some part of a Longines watch must be in the picture.
2. Absolutely no obscene material. Think PG-13. If you're in doubt as to the appropriateness of a picture, please PM ulackfocus or Wombat the picture & we'll be happy to advise.
3. All photos must be original and taken by the member who submits them.
4. Only basic photo-editing is allowed. This includes:
Brightness
Contrast
Light levels
Cropping
Color Adjustments (hue / Saturation)
Highlights
Cleaning of 'dust' or particles in pixels
Sharpening
All other photoshopping is prohibited. This includes filters, layers, 'cutting' of photos, mirroring, borders and any other effect or change made by a software application other then the ones specifically allowed above. Any photo deemed by the WTF Admin Team to be photoshopped beyond the basic editing documented as being allowed above will be disqualified. The decision of the Admin Team is final. If you have a question on if a PhotoShop technique would qualify as one of the above allowed techniques, please contact ulackfocus or Wombat by PM & we'll be happy to provide the answer.
4. While pictures you’ve already taken & shown can be submitted, new “never before seen” shots would be greatly appreciated.
5. Members may submit up to 5 photos which must be no larger than 800x600 / 600x800 pixel dimension size. Your photo software or picture host should have a facility to edit sizes. If you're unsure if your hosting service provides this, please use Photobucket to host your pictures. The service is free and there is an excellent image sizing feature in Photobucket. If you're in doubt of your picture size, follow these steps to determine the size:
load your photo & PM to yourself in WTF
Go to the PM you sent and with your mouse, right-click on your picture & select properties.
In the properties window, the size will be listed as 'Dimensions'. The dimensions must be 600x800 / 800x600 or smaller.
If you need assistance on re-sizing a photo, please contact an Admin, they'll be happy to help.
6. All entries must be submitted by
11:59PM Sunday, December 13th, 2009 EST. Entries submitted after this time will not be accepted.
7. Entries will be judged by the WTF members on composition, content and all manner of technical criteria.
8. In the event of a tie, a tie-breaker vote will be held. The WTF membership will vote on the tie-breaking photos to determine the winner.
If a tie results from the tie-breaker vote, the WTF Admin team will vote on the tieing pictures to determine a winner.
In the event of a tie amongst the Admins vote the WTF Owner will make the final decision. The decision of the admins is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
9. Photo's may be adjusted or changed at the discretion of the submitting member up to the submittal deadline. After the deadline, no changes will be allowed.
THE PRIZE!!!First off, the winner will enjoy having their photo on the Longines' Masthead. That alone is worthy of chest puffing. But since a prize is nice also, how's this: a polishing kit.
SUBMITTING YOUR ENTRYTo submit your photos, you must send them via Private Message (PM) to ulackfocus (Dennis) or Wombat (Craig). We'll grab the image and rehost it in one of our accounts. This will guarantee anonimity in voting.
REMEMBER!All entries must be submitted by 11:59PM
Sunday, December 13th 2009 EST.
